The management of the University of Ibadan, Ibadan has released the 2012/2013 post Unified Tertiary Education Matriculation Examination (UTME) results held on Monday, 9 July, 2012.
The University’s Director of Public Communication, Mr. Olatunji Oladejo, said in a statement that candidates who sat for the examination should log on to the institution’s website to access the results which were released within 15 hours of conducting the examination.
The results show that the following three candidates: Adedoyin Ibukunoluwa (MB BS), Shuaibu Gideon Enebojo (MB BS) and Adepoju Adekunle (Electrical/Electronics Engineering) scored 88%, being the highest mark. They were followed by Fashola Oreoluwa (MB BS), Omozojie Samson (MB BS) and Adetayo Michael Babatunde (Law) with 87% while Dagie Blessing Ebahi (Communication and Language Arts), Adaja Aba Emmanuel (MB BS), Efebame Edeki (MB BS) and Jayeola Idris Olayiwola (Pharmacy) scored 86%.
“On the whole, the University invited 7, 287 candidates for the examination based on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board’s criteria of Merit, Locality and Educationally Less Disadvantaged States (ELDS). The examination recorded 163 absentees. Only 34.4% of the total number of 7,073 examined passed the examination in which some candidates who chose Political Science, Guidance and Counselling, Linguistics and African Languages among a host of others scored as low as 10%. The candidates were examined in the subjects they offered and sat for in the examination conducted by JAMB but this time round under the strict UI examination condition”, the University spokesman explained.
