President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the creation of a new state in the northern part of the country.

A statement by the Minister of Information, Labaran Maku said the creation of the new state was part of conditions given by the Boko Haram Sect, for the return of peace in the troubled northern part of the country.

According to the statement, the new state has been named "STATE OF EMERGENCY".
