Farouk Lawan & Femi OtedolaFor Farouk Lawan to have just been arrested by The Nigerian Police after several days of the bribery scandal make me wonder if what transpired in the first place was indeed a sting operation or an orchestrated entrapment by the oil subsidy thieves to get our focus shifted from the main issue.
Typically, a sting involves a law-enforcement officer or an obliging member of the public to play a role as partner in crime or a potential victim that will go along with a suspect’s actions in order to gather evidence of the suspect’s transgression. It is important to know also that in sting operations, videotape recordings including audio of whatever transpired between the suspect and the potential victim are usually taken by the police officers. That Otedola is the only operator in this scheme who does not deem it fit to get Farouk nabbed in the very act by the law-enforcement agent is to me questionable. I do not know what you believe but by my own understanding this is pure entrapment orchestrated by the ruling party chain of command to sacrifice Farouk in protection of the subsidy thieves, many of whom are known PDP financier from embarrassment that will rob off on party’s leadership structure and the Federal Government headed by the prince of Otuoke who once had no shoes to wear but now has diamond shoes to piece our heads through his anti-people policies engendered by massive corruption in his government .
My worry is not really about the treacherous ruling class but about the gullible masses that are easily distracted. When I listen to people hail Mr. Otedola for doing a clean job I wondered who have bewitched Nigerians. It baffles me how we have become so susceptible to hypnotism so much so that in such a seeming case of setup, the more we look/hear the less we see/understand. It is unfortunate that Lawan played into the hand of PDP leadership by not moving faster than the cabal but as a member of The Politically Demonize Party, I have no sympathy for him either. I wonder what gave him the impetus to think that he can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, without first binding the strong man and then spoil his house. He should have known that he cannot keep drinking from the same polluted fountain of PDP and expect not to be poisoned. Nevertheless, as a victim of entrapment, with good evidence in his cache and God being on his side if he truly engaged in the game to savage his father land from the evil of corruption, he will still be leveraged. Goodluck to him!
