NetDefender is a Free Firewall with source code, which can be downloaded along with firewall executables. You can block all web and data traffic or you can allow some traffic through just one mouse click.

Also included is a Port scanner which can be used to scan your windows system for any open Ports. Open ports make your PC vulnerable for attack, so the scanner will assist you in closing down any unused ports.

Net Defender also includes a packet filtering firewall. Add custom rules to this firewall as per various security requirements. With the packet filtering you can decide to block web traffic, FTP traffic, instant messaging, or other applications which communicate over your network.

You can define rules based on source and destination IP, source and destination Port numbers or on Protocol used (IP, FTP, TCP, ICMP).
