The Lagos State deputy governor, Mrs. Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, has lauded the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry for its youth-oriented programmes at the finals of the secondary school choral competition in Lagos on Saturday.
The competition which was organised by the church and collaborated by the Lagos State Government, attracted more than 250 secondary schools across the state.
The 10 finalists in the competition, however, met in a melodious grand finale held in the Main Auditorium of the University of Lagos.
At the event, the deputy governor, who was the special guest of honour, said the MFM’s gesture would turn youths away from vices and divert their attention to creativity.
Orelope-Adefulire said, “My willingness to identify with MFM is because of its lofty ideas and programmes for the youths. Particularly interesting is the fact that the church recently gave 21 first class graduates of the church car gifts aside other investments.
“I believe the choral competition is a credible initiative because it would divert the students’ attention from vices to creativity. It would also empower them to stand tall among their contemporaries all over the world. I want to advise the principals of the schools to give music importance in the curriculum because it has many advantages.”
